Meet the Researchers
Dr Jane Miskovic-Wheatley
(she/her)
Jane (BSc, Psych Hons 1, MSc, DCP) is a clinical psychologist and researcher with over 20 years experience working on multiple projects aiming to improve the lives of people with a lived or living experience of eating disorders. She is the Research & Translation Lead for the InsideOut Institute, contributing to over 20 innovative research projects including studies funded by the Federal Government, NMHRC, MRFF, TRGS and NSW Department of Health, across several different methodologies from health data administration to community engagement, clinical trials to qualitative research, and she has a specific focus on co-design principals and collaborating with people with lived experience. As a clinical psychologist, she is an industry leader in providing clinical care, community education, supervision, resources, and advocacy for mental health care within the performing, events and creative arts industries.
Marcellinus Kim

Marcellinus Kim (Mars) is the Eating Disorder Coordinator for Sydney Local Health District. Mars has also worked as a Clinical Dietitian at RPA for over 10 years, with experience in a wide scope of highly complex clinical areas including eating disorders in multiple treatment settings. Mars has been actively involved in research since 2012 and currently involved on numerous research projects in collaboration with the InsideOut Institute, University of Sydney and Sydney Local Health District. Mars enjoys both qualitative and quantitative research and is also a Biostatistician. Mars is passionate about the implementation of research in clinical practice to improve and deliver quality care to people with eating disorders and their families and carers.
Dr Phillip Aouad
(he/him)
Phil received his PhD, which examined the eating disordered behaviour Chew and Spit, from the University of Sydney in 2020. He is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship with the InsideOut Institute. Phil has an interest in eating disorder clinical research and translation of research into practice and policy as well as in diversity in in eating disorder treatment. Phil has worked in therapeutic setting in young people and adults across the diversity and LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
Kai Schweizer

Kai Schweizer (BA, GradDipSexol, MSexol) is a neurodivergent, trans researcher located Boorloo (Perth). They are currently a sessional academic at Curtin University's Sexology Department, a Research Assistant at the University of Western Australia, and a youth worker at Perth Inner City Youth Service. Kai is interested in understanding exercise and eating behaviours in trans and gender diverse people and developing recommendations for screening and supporting healthy behaviours. They are the co-founder of the Youth Pride Network and the founder of the Youth Homelessness Advisory Council.
Dr Sabina Vatter

Sabina Vatter (BA, MA, PhD) is a Research Officer at the InsideOut Institute working on several research projects. Sabina completed her PhD in the UK exploring care partnerships in Parkinson’s dementia. During her university studies, she taught sexual education to 9–15-year-old students and was an active member in the Estonian Sexual Health Union. With a decade of experience in clinical psychology research across diverse populations, she now specialises in body image, eating disorders, mental health, informal care partnerships and intimate relationships. She is passionate about improving health, quality of life and well-being across the lifespan within various mental and physical health conditions, and within diverse ethnical and cultural backgrounds.
